This trip we are off to NSW North Coast and QLD for 3 weeks camping, visiting Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Kingaroy, Tambourine Mountain, Yamba and Port Macquarie.
Itinerary

Day 1 : We leave Sydney for Brisbane, stopping off at Coffs Harbour for 2 nights. Coffs Harbour is about the half-way mark between Sydney and Brisbane and takes about 5-5.5 hours.

Coffs Harbour is famous for its banana's and in particular the 'Big Banana'.

Plenty of banana's to choose from.

Day 2 : It's summer time and the weather is hot. To cool off we are going to Raleigh Water Park.

It's not the biggest water park you will ever go to but still fun. There's only a few water slides and a pool and putt-putt. We were about the only ones here.

Day 3 - 9. We arrive in Brisbane and spend a week with family for Christmas.
During this time we visit South Bank to take a swim at the man-made beach.

Kids! Do you want to go on 'The Wheel of Brisbane' ?

Yes they do.

Day 10 : We continue north from Brisbane. We stop off at the 'Big Pineapple'.

We arrive at our camping ground in Hervey Bay where we will be staying for 2 nights. The kids meet some of the other kids camping. Thats a good thing about camping, you get to meet lots of different people and make friends. Hervey Bay is of course the gateway to Fraser island and famous for the Whale Tours.

Day 11 : We go to Fraser Island for the day

Day 12 : On our way to Kingaroy

BIG4 Kingaroy Holiday park. A nice caravan park, has a fridge for storing your food if need be. Short distance to centre of town.

Day 13 : The 'Lavender Farm'

Amzaing the things you can make with Lavender. Here is Lavender Liqueur.

Kingaroy is famous for Joe Bjelke-Peterson (former premier of QLD) and Peanuts.

Day 14 : Day trip to the Bunya Mountains.

Come on - poo on him!

Day 15 : For the next few days we are staying at Thunderbird Park in the Tambourine Mountains just outside of the Gold Coast.

We have a good camping spot with a fire for roasting our marshmallows.

Day16 : Today we are going to try our hand at digging for Thundereggs.

We found a few small Thundereggs.

Also at Thunderbird Park, you can on the Adventure Parc and climb through the trees.

There is also Horse Riding.

Day 17 : Today we are going for a drive in the mountains. Visiting the Glow-Worm Caves

This is a man-made glow-worm cave. It's a bit small and the price reflects this.

Day 18 : On the way back to Sydney, we will be stopping off at Yamba for a few nights.

Day 19 : Time to try some boat fishing.

At least my son caught a fish, more than me (too small anyway so it doesn't count Dad 0 - Son 0)

Day 20 : taking a short drive to Maclean. Old looking Scottish town. Very nice and beautiful town, well worth the visit.

Day 21 : Arrive at Port Macquarie
Day 22 : Going to do some strawberry picking at Ricardoes, a short trip outside of Port Macquarie.

Day 23 : time to go back to the past and see what it was like to live in the old Australia at Timbertown.

Harder than it looks - whip cracking.
