This sunny summer days in Sydney we are off to Wattamolla Beach located in the Royal National Park south of Sydney.
To get to the lagoon from the carpark is about a 15 minute walk, mostly on rocks and dirt with occasional stairs and bridges. There are no food/drink outlets here. So you must carry all your food/drinks, towels, sunshades from the car. Due to this it can be trecherous for older people.

Away from the beach side near the hills, the water is very deep. It's good for jumping into the water, but adult supervision is advisable.

The majority of the lagoon is quite shallow, ideal for babies and young kids.

There is a cliff that many people jump off. Apparently this is illiegal but people still do it as there has been injuries. Bring your blow up boats and canoes.

Walking from the carpark to the beach we came across a monitor lizard eating scraps through some garbage. Didn't seem to care we were watching.
Tips
- Only bring what you need - it is a bit of a walk from the carpark carrying eskies and other necessities.
- In summer this place is really busy. So busy they block the road off at the beach turnoff. There were dozens of people carrying their eskies and backpacks for the 3.5km walk.
Cost
- you have to pay for the National Park entry, $11 per vehicle unless you have an annual pass.
